St. Louis Cardinals DFS Spin

Brad Miller went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk Wednesday versus the Reds. It wasn't quite to the level of his seven-RBI outburst Tuesday, but it was another fine showing for one of the NL's best hitters to date. Besides the .333 average and .667 slugging percentage, Miller currently has a 16/16 K/BB in 85 PA. Last year, he finished at 45/15 in 170 PA. In 2018, he came in at 82/22 in 254 PA.

Chicago Cubs DFS Spin

Ian Happ was diagnosed with contusion above his right eye after leaving Thursday's game against the Pirates. X-rays came back negative. The outfielder fouled a ball back and hit himself in the eye and appeared to have trouble seeing, but it appears that Happ has avoided a serious injury. He should be considered day-to-day, for now.

Cardinals vs. Cubs Betting Prediction

Through seven starts, Darvish has been virtually unhittable. He’s 6-1 with a 1.47 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with 52 strikeouts over his 43 innings of work. Tonight he’ll face a St. Louis offense that racked up a bunch of runs in Cincinnati earlier this week, including a 16-run outburst in a win on Tuesday night versus the Reds. That said, this Cardinals lineup is streaky and is also capable of being shut down for multiple games so Miller and Co. don’t concern me. Granted, Flaherty has been equally as impressive as Darvish, posting a 1.93 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over four starts. But I’ll take my chances with the Cubs figuring out Flaherty before the Cards figure out Flaherty.
