Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Dwight Smith Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Angels. Smith was one of four O's to go yard on Sunday. His two-run shot off Griffin Canning in the third inning boosted his squad to a 4-1 lead. The Angels failed to make a game of it from that point on. The 26-year-old outfielder entered the weekend in a 2-for-17 skid, but homered on both Saturday and Sunday to right himself from the little tailspin. Overall this season, Smith is slashing .286/.333/.510 with eight home runs and 27 RBI across 147 at-bats.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Wednesday that Greg Bird (foot) still hasn't been cleared for any baseball activities. "It's going slow," added the Yankees skipper. Bird was placed on the 10-day injured list April 14 with a left plantar fascia tear and he was recently transferred to the 60-day IL. There is obviously no timetable for his return to the active roster at this point. Luke Voit remains locked in as the Yanks' everyday first baseman.
