Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored against the Cubs on Wednesday. Lindor put the Mets on the board in the first inning with his first home run of the season off of Zach Davies. The 27-year-old shortstop added two more base hits on the day to bring his average up to .222 through Wednesday's action. It's only a matter of time before Lindor gets going. He's displayed more patience than usual to this point with a 17 percent walk rate and just a 42 percent swing rate. It was good to see Lindor be more aggressive in this one. A minuscule 5.7 percent strikeout rate and .179 BABIP say more days like this will be coming.
Chicago Cubs DFS Spin
Javier Baez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and three runs scored in a lopsided 16-4 win over the Mets on Wednesday. Baez reached base in the fourth and fifth innings with help by the defense on an error and catcher interference. He'd come around to score both times before the 28-year-old launched a home run with the bases loaded in the sixth. Baez has helped fantasy managers with five home runs, sixteen RBI, and five steals but is hitting just .203 with an atrocious 44.9 percent strikeout rate.
Mets vs. Cubs Betting Prediction
The Mets are 5-17 in their last 22 games versus the Cubs and are 17-38 in their last 55 games in Chicago. The Cubs have also won six straight versus the Mets and given the way the offense exploded on Wednesday, they’re worth a flier as a +115 underdog.
