National League West rivals clash in San Diego this weekend, starting with a 10:10 p.m. ET matchup between the Dodgers and Padres when Walker Buehler opposes Ryan Weathers. The over has been profitable in previous meetings between these two teams, but will it cash tonight?

Justin Turner went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer on Thursday, leading the Dodgers to a 7-5 comeback victory over the Rockies. Turner reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances as the Dodgers notched their seventh consecutive win, and completed a three-game series sweep against their division rivals. He put the Dodgers on the board by connecting on a 74 mph curveball from Rockies' southpaw Austin Gomber, launching a three-run homer to left-center field -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- in the third inning. The 36-year-old veteran third baseman has already equaled his over-the-fence output from the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign and appears to be on his way to eclipsing the 20-homer mark for the fourth time in the last six seasons. He's shown zero signs of slowing down at the plate, slashing .432/.480/.841 with 10 runs scored, 10 extra-base hits and 14 RBI in 50 plate appearances. He remains an exceptional four-category fantasy contributor, when fully healthy.
San Diego Padres DFS Spin
Manny Machado had a two-run homer, a sac fly and a walk Thursday in the Padres' 8-3 win over the Pirates. Going by his Statcast numbers, Machado has been one of the league's unluckiest hitters to date, but even so, he still has three homers and an .831 OPS in 14 games. The .240 average will surely come up, too, though he might not match the numbers that put him into MVP contention last year.
Dodgers vs. Padres Betting Prediction
The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and is 4-1 in the last five meetings in San Diego. The over is also 15-7-2 in the Padres’ last 24 games as a home underdog, is 3-1-1 in their last five games as an underdog and is 4-1 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. On the other side, the over is 5-2 in the Dodgers’ last seven games versus an opponent with a winning record.
