Wizards vs. Nets Pick
Is the over the right play tonight when the Washington Wizards play at the Brooklyn Nets? Tip-off is slated for 7:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Wizards are listed as a 5.5-point favorite. The over-under is set at 212 points.
Washington comes in with a 17-14 overall record and 15-16 ATS after a 116-106 home victory over the Pelicans. Brooklyn is 11-19 overall and 17-13 ATS following a 104-99 home loss to the Kings, its fourth striaght defeat. The Nets won the season's first meeting on its home court by a score of 103-98 on Dec. 12. The Wizards is 4-1 straight up and 2-3 ATS in five meetings since the start of last season. The over is 5-1.
In the win against New Orleans, Bradley Beal led Washington with 26 points. He also registered five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Mike Scott contributed 24 points and four rebounds off the bench. John Wall added 18 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. The Wizards led by six at halftime and proceeded to outscore the Pelicans 32-15 in the third quarter.
Spencer Dinwiddie contributed 16 points, four assists and three rebounds to lead the way in the loss to Sacramento. Demarre Carroll had 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Brooklyn trailed 36-20 after one quarter, continued to trail by 16 at halftime and then was unable to put together a big enough second-half rally.
The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings. Brooklyn is 0-4 ATS in its last four games.
While the last meeting between these two teams was lower scoring 10 days ago, now the Wizards have a healthy Wall and their offense is clicking. They shredded the Pelicans and now get a matchup with the up-tempo Nets. The over has dominated this series in recent meetings and there is no reason why the points won't pile up again here.
