Are the host Brooklyn Nets going to cover the small spread Sunday afternoon versus the Atlanta Hawks? Game time is 3:30PM EST.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the NEts are listed as a 2-point favorite on the spread. The over-under is set at 222.

Atlanta comes in with a 1-1 record following a 109-91 loss at the Hornets. Brooklyn is also 1-1 after a 126-121 win over the Magic. The four meetings were split 2-2 last year and the Nets covered the spread three times. The total went under all four games.

In the Hawks' loss, Dennis Schroeder led the way with 25 points and five assists. Taurean Prince accounted for 15 points and six boards. Dewayne Dedmon had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Kent Bazemore contributed 11 points and three steals.

The Nets were paced by Trevor Booker off the bench Friday as he tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds in the balanced scoring effort. Demarre Carroll and D'Angelo Russell also scored 17 apiece. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 16 off the bench, while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 15 points.

The under is 8-0 in the last eight meetings between the two teams.

Bet on Hawks vs. Nets

We're certainly not going to shy you away from the under given the history between these two teams, but with the up-tempo style of the Nets it is hard to predict any low-scoring games involving them. But while both of these squads are likely to be among the worst in the Eastern Conference, the Nets seem to have a little more upside at this point with a roster full of high-energy guys. For that reason, we like Brooklyn in this afternoon tilt as it can sometimes be difficult for a road team to get going in an unusual start time.
