The second game of Thursday night’s TNT double header in the NBA tips off at 10:00 p.m. ET when the Lakers host the 76ers. Without LeBron James, will the Lakers hang with the Sixers as a 5-point home dog?

Philadelphia 76ers DFS Notes

Ben Simmons finished Tuesday’s win over the Warriors with 22 points (7-of-15 FGs, 8-of-14 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 35 minutes. Prior to Tuesday, Simmons had not scored 20 points or more in a game since February 27. Another positive for him was the turnover count, as he was responsible for just two. That category has been an issue recently, as Simmons entered Tuesday averaging 5.0 turnovers per game over the last two weeks. As for points scored, that tends to be a “bonus” category for the 76ers point guard, who is most productive as a rebounder/defender/distributor. If he can continue to threaten the 20-point mark while also keeping the turnovers down, his fantasy value will rebound.

Los Angeles Lakers DFS Notes

Dennis Schroder hit just 2-of-10 shots but also hit a 3-pointers and 10-of-12 free throws for 15 points, four rebounds, seven assists, two steals and zero turnovers in a 128-111 loss to the Pelicans. It was nice to see Schroder salvage a nice stat line despite not getting his shots to fall and Kyle Kuzma took the turnover hit tonight with six of them, while Schroder had zero. As long as LeBron James and Anthony Davis are out for the Lakers, Schroder, Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and Markieff Morris, along with Talen Horton-Tucker, Wesley Matthews and Alex Caruso, should do the heavy lifting for the Lakers.

76ers vs. Lakers Game Prediction

The 76ers are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games versus the Lakers at STAPLES Center and 4-1 against the number in their last five games in this series overall. The Sixers are also 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite, are 6-1-1 against the number in their last eight games coming off a win and are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games versus an opponent with a winning record.
