Dodgers doubled up

Los Angeles lost Game 2 of the NLDS at home against Washington Friday night by a count of 4-2 as the series drew even at 1-1. Max Muncy helped pace the Dodgers offense as he finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run plus a walk. Justin Turner went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Matt Beaty was 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit single and a run scored. Clayton Kershaw took the loss as he gave up three earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk over six innings. Hyun-Jin Ryu gets the start tonight as he enters with a 14-5 record, 2.32 ERA and 1.01 WHIP plus 163 strikeouts across 182 2/3 innings pitched.

Strasburg tosses gem

Washington earned a 4-2 victory at Los Angeles Friday night in Game 2 of the NLDS. Stephen Strasburg picked up the win on the mound as he gave up one earned run on three hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks over six innings. Daniel Hudson notched the save as he allowed one hit with two strikeouts and two walks in a scoreless frame. Trea Turner helped lead the Nationals offensively as he went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Adam Eaton ended the game 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Anthony Rendon was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Anibal Sanchez draws the start tonight instead of Max Scherzer, who was pushed back after striking out the side in the eighth inning Friday night. Sanchez comes in with a 11-8 record, 3.85 ERA and 1.27 WHIP plus 134 strikeouts over 166 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 7-0 in their last seven road games. Los Angeles is 2-5 in its last seven playoff road games.

Washington

The Nationals are 7-1 in their last eight Sunday games. Washington is 33-17 in its last 50 games overall.

Prediction:

I might have been all in on the Nationals with Scherzer on the mound, but Sanchez is a no go for me with the bullpen being a disaster behind him. While Ryu slowed down in the second half, he's had plenty of rest going into this start and is capable of spinning gems at any given notice. I like the Dodgers here, though we might be looking at a five-game series if Scherzer pitches in Game 4 the way he did for one inning Friday night.
