Gregorius drives in three
New York lost by a score of 9-4 Saturday at Texas to drop to 103-58 overall and 46-34 on the road. Didi Gregorius went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to help pace the offense. Aaron Judge ended the game 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Tyler Wade was 1-for-2 with a run off the bench. Luis Severino took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on one hit with four strikeouts and four walks over three innings pitched. Chad Green draws the start today as he enters with a 4-4 record, 4.24 ERA and 1.22 WHIP plus 96 strikeouts over 68 innings pitched.
Odor has huge night
Texas cruised to a 9-4 home win Saturday night over New York to improve to 77-84 overall and 44-36 at home. Rougned Odor paced the Rangers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and six RBIs. Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Scott Heineman was 2-for-3 with a double, three walks and two runs. Jonathan Hernandez picked up the win in relief as he gave up one hit with two strikeouts and one walk over two scoreless frames. MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 4-1 in their last five Sunday games. New York is 1-4 in its last five road games.
Texas
The Rangers are 1-4 in the last five Lynn home starts. Texas is 3-10 in its last 13 games overall.
Prediction:
New York has nothing to play for here other than rounding into playoff form I suppose. After Green is done, Masahiro Tanaka is expected to be the bulk reliever. He's had an inconsistent season, but has mostly been decent when not facing the Red Sox. But the Rangers have been good at home this season and Lynn is capable of pitching shutdown baseball. Lynn also is often at his best against power hitters who he challenges with power of his own. I'm going to take Texas here as the Yankees seem to be ready to get this whole regular season thing over with.
