Brewers win seventh straight

Milwaukee won again Thursday afternoon to clinch an NL Wild Card berth as it downed host Cincinnati by a count of 5-3. Orlando Arcia helped pace the Brewers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Manny Pina went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Yasmani Grandal ended the contest 0-for-2 with two walks and two runs. Chase Anderson recorded the win as he gave up one earned run on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Josh Hader registered the save as he allowed no hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 1 1/3 scoreless frames. Zach Davies draws the start tonight as he enters with a 10-7 record, 3.61 ERA and 1.31 WHIP plus 100 strikeouts across 154 2/3 innings pitched.

Rockies thumped by Giants

Colorado lost by a score of 8-3 Thursday afternoon at San Francisco to drop to 68-91 overall and 28-53 on the road. Sam Hilliard helped pace the Rockies offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Nolan Arenado ended the contest 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Yonathan Daza went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Jesus Tinoco took the loss in relief as he surrendered two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks over one inning. Antonio Senzatela gets the start tonight for Colorado as he comes in with a 10-11 record, 6.90 ERA and 1.76 WHIP plus 70 strikeouts over 118 2/3 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 11-1 in their last 12 road games. Milwaukee is 5-0 in the last five Davies starts.

Colorado

The Rockies are 4-1 in the last five Senzatela home starts. Colorado is 24-52 in its last 76 games overall.

Prediction:

Colorado continues to send Senzatela to the mound and he continues to struggle. I don't think it will get any better here as the Brewers are playing with a ton of confidence and have plenty to play for - a division title or NL Wild Card Game home-field advantage. Davies is typically efficient and even if he gets caught up in giving up some runs at Coors Field, he's going to get run support and has a good bullpen to take care of the last three or four innings.
