deGrom sensational in win

Jacob deGrom threw eight innings of two-hit shutout baseball with 10 strikeouts and no walks last night in a 3-0 home win over the Braves. Seth Lugo threw a spotless ninth inning with one strikeout for his third save of the season. Michael Conforto helped pace the offense by going 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs. Dominic Smith went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Brandon Nimmo was 0-for-1, but drew two walks.

Braves held to two hits

Ronald Acuna Jr. went 1-for-4, while Johan Camargo finished 1-for-3 in yesterday's loss at New York. Luke Jackson took the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts in an inning of work.

Julio Teheran (9-8, 4.03 ERA) will start today for Atlanta, while New York turns to Jason Vargas (6-9, 6.25).
