Lorenzo Cain was 3-for-4 with a walk and a run from the leadoff spot in yesterday's 6-4 win at St. Louis. Christian Yelich was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and two RBIs. Ryan Braun finished 1-for-2 with a 2-run home run and a walk. Corbin Burnes gave up one hit and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning of relief to earn the win.
Martinez, Ozuna homer in loss
Jose Martinez was 2-for-5 with a solo home run in yesterday's loss to Milwaukee. Paul DeJong and Yairo Munoz both went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Marcell Ozuna hit a 2-run home run in four at-bats. Bud Norris suffered the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in one inning of work.
Gio Gonzalez (9-11, 4.28 ERA) will take the mound for Milwaukee tonight, while St. Louis is going with Austin Gomber (6-1, 3.63).
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The under is 14-5 in the last 19 Brewers games on Tuesdays. The under is 9-4 in the last 13 Milwaukee games overall.
St. Louis
The Cardinals are 6-2 in their last eight games overall. St. Louis is 8-2 in Gomber's last 10 starts.
Prediction:
I can't trust Gonzalez on the road against a team full of right-handed power bats plus of course Matt Carpenter from the left side. Gomber has been efficient in most of his starts and should do well enough tonight to send the hosts to a win.
