Duda hits go-ahead pinch-hit double
Lucas Duda broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning last night as his go-ahead pinch-hit double pushed host Atlanta to an 8-3 victory. Ender Inciarte finished the contest 2-for-3 with two walks, a run and an RBI. Freddie Freeman was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs. Nick Markakis ended the game 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Johan Camargo was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Dansby Swanson went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Jesse Biddle earned the win as he allowed one hit in two-thirds of a scoreless inning.
Cabrera has two-hit night
Asdrubal Cabrera finished 2-for-4 and scored a run in last night's loss at Atlanta. Cesar Hernandez finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run from the leadoff spot. Odubel Herrera finished 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Jorge Alfaro was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Tommy Hunter took the loss in relief as he allowed one earned run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk over one-third of an inning.
Nick Pivetta 7-13, 4.67 ERA) will take the mound tonight for the Phillies, while the Braves counter with Julio Teheran (9-8, 3.97).
MLB Betting Trends
The under is 6-2 in the last eight Pivetta starts on grass. The Phillies are 24-57 in their last 81 road games versus a team with a winning home record.
The Braves are 6-1 in their last seven games following a win. Atlanta is 35-16 in its last 51 games versus the NL East.
Two teams going in opposite directions. Teheran can be prone to getting shelled, but he's been pitching alright as of late and will oppose a pitcher in Pivetta with good stuff but can't seem to put it all together as of yet. I trust the Atlanta offense more and the Braves are at home. Take the favorites tonight.
