Rays fall at Dodgers

Tampa Bay lost by a count of 7-5 Tuesday night at Los Angeles to drop to 89-63 overall and 46-31 on the road. Ji-Man Choi helped lead the Rays offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Jesus Aguilar went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit two-run homer. Austin Meadows ended the contest 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored. Peter Fairbanks took the loss in relief as he gave up five runs (three earned) on three hits with no strikeouts and one walk over one-third of an inning. Brendan McKay draws the start tonight for Tampa Bay as he enters with a 2-4 record, 5.27 ERA and 1.45 WHIP plus 50 strikeouts over 42 2/3 innings pitched.

Seager drives in four

Los Angeles earned a 7-5 home victory Tuesday night over Tampa Bay to improve to 98-54 overall and 57-20 at home. Corey Seager led the Dodgers offensively as he went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBIs. Cody Bellinger was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Gavin Lux ended the game 1-for-1 off the bench with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Kenta Maeda picked up the win in relief despite allowing three earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks over one inning of work. Kenley Jansen notched the save as he struck out four over 1 1/3 innings. Tony Gonsolin will start tonight for LA as he comes in with a 3-2 record, 2.83 ERA and 1.00 WHIP plus 31 strikeouts across 35 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Tampa Bay

The Rays are 4-1 in their last five games versus a team with a winning record. Tampa Bay is 13-6 in its last 19 games versus the NL West.

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 6-1 in their last seven Wednesday games. Los Angeles is 52-16 in its last 68 home games.

The Dodgers are very difficult to beat at home and have a bunch of power hitters ready to do damage against McKay. While the rookie will be good in the future, he is still figuring it out right now. Gonsolin is also a rookie, but I trust him a little more right now. While Tampa Bay needs wins, this is a tough matchup and I'd rather go with the hosts here.
