Phillies doubled up at home

Philadelphia lost by a score of 6-3 at home against Boston Sunday afternoon to drop to 76-72 overall and 43-35 at home. Rhys Hoskins paced the Phillies offensively as he finished 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored. Cesar Hernandez went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jean Segura was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Jason Vargas suffered the loss as he allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits with six strikeouts and one walk over three innings. Braves blanked in series finale

Atlanta lost by a count of 7-0 Sunday afternoon at Washington to drop to 93-58 overall and 46-30 on the road. Freddie Freeman paced the Braves offense as he finished 1-for-2 plus a walk. MLB Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The Phillies are 12-2 in their last 14 Tuesday games. Philadelphia is 4-1 in the last five Velasquez starts.

Atlanta

The Braves are 5-0 in their last five series openers. Atlanta is 5-0 in the last five Keuchel home starts.

Prediction:

Keuchel has gotten into a great groove and with the Phillies basically having nothing left to play for (0.1 percent Wild Card chances), it's really difficult to place a bet on them here. Velasquez is erratic and always seems to run into trouble an inning or two to derail his outing. Go with the home team here as they round into playoff form.
