Markakis has four-hit night

Nick Markakis helped lead the Braves offensively as he finished 4-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs. Ozzie Albies ended the contest 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Dansby Swanson ended the game 1-for-2 with three walks, two runs and an RBI. Mike Foltynewicz notched the win as he gave up one earned run on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk over six innings. Rendon drives in lone run

Washington suffered a 10-1 home defeat Saturday versus first-place Atlanta to drop to 81-66 overall and 41-31 at home. Anthony Rendon led the Nationals offense as he went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Victor Robles was 2-for-3, while Andrew Stevenson was 1-for-1 as a pinch hitter. Wander Suero took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on two hits with no strikeouts and two walks over one-third of an inning of relief. Anibal Sanchez will start today for Washington as he comes in with an 8-8 record, 4.4 ERA and 1.32 WHIP plus 123 strikeouts over 147 innings pitched.

MLB Betting Trends

The Braves are 5-2 in their last seven road games. Atlanta is 6-1 in the last seven Fried Sunday starts.

The Nationals are 5-0 in their last five Sunday games. Washington is 1-4 in its last five home games.

Expect the Braves to ease off the gas pedal after clinching a playoff berth yesterday and this being a getaway day. Washington still has plenty to play for as it leads the NL Wild Card race, but there are plenty of chasers so every game has plenty of importance. Look for the veteran Sanchez to turn in a quality start here and help the Nats to a win.
