Fedde trying to figure it out at MLB level
Erick Fedde, a UNLV product, has not had much success at the MLB level as one of Washington's top pitching prospects. He'll take the mound today following a rainout yesterday of the Nationals' series finale at the Cubs, which is now rescheduled for Thursday. Fedde has made seven starts this season and has posted a 6.00 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP over 33 innings. He has surrendered 41 hits while striking out 26 and walking 11. Fedde has also allowed six home runs.
Phillies fall in finale at Mets
Philadelphia lost 6-4 Sunday at New York for its second straight defeat in the series. Carlos Santana finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk from the leadoff spot. Rhys Hoskins finished 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Cesar Hernandez ended the contest 2-for-4. Vincent Velasquez took the loss as he allowed five earned runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Jake Arrieta (10-9, 3.61 ERA) will take the mound today for the Phillies.
MLB Betting Trends
Washington
The Nationals are 2-6 in their last eight Monday games. The under is 36-17-1 in the last 54 Washington road games.
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 2-6 in their last eight games overall. Philadelphia is 2-6 in its last eight home games.
Prediction:
Although the Phillies are in struggle mode, they should be able to hit Fedde as he hasn't shown the ability to consistently get out MLB hitters yet. Arrieta has been a bit up and down this season, but should get enough run support to get the job done today. Bet on Philadelphia to get back on the winning side of the equation today.
