Brewers double up Giants for sweep

Milwaukee swept its three-game home series against San Francisco, winning by a count of 6-3 Sunday afternoon. Lorenzo Cain finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs from the top of the batting order. Christian Yelich was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Ryan Braun went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Jonathan Schoop ended the contest 1-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBIs. Corbin Burnes struck out two in a perfect inning of relief to earn the win. Corey Knebel retired all four batters he faced with two strikeouts for his 15th save of the season.

Lester rebounding from rough stretch

Jon Lester will start today for the Cubs after Sunday's finale with Washington was postponed until Thusrday due to rain. Lester gave up nine runs (eight earned) in 3 1/3 innings at home versus the Nationals back on August 11, which was another in a string of poor starts. But over his last four outings which has spanned 23 2/3 innings, Lester has only given up four earned runs. In his last start, he threw six shutout innings of eight-hit ball with seven strikeouts and no walks to earn the win at Philadelphia. He'll oppose Milwaukee's Wade Miley (3-2, 2.12) in today's game.

MLB Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The over is 7-3 in Miley's last 10 starts overall. The under is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings.

Chicago

The Cubs are 42-20 in their last 62 home games. Chicago is 37-18 in its last 55 Monday games.

Prediction:

Miley was strong the last time he faced Chicago and has been good in almost all his starts for Milwaukee. His change in pitch selection has done wonders for him this season. And while Lester has been strong lately, he worked out of some jams and could be due for a poor outing. I'm taking a shot at the Brewers earning the victory tonight.
