Dominant Manaea start lifts A's
Sean Manaea struck out 10 over seven one-run innings Sunday afternoon to get the win in a 3-1 triumph for Oakland at home against Detroit. Manaea allowed one earned run on only two hits and walked two in the gem of an outing. Liam Hendriks struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save. Khris Davis helped pace the Athletics offense as he finished 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Mark Canha was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI to also contribute. Marcus Semien was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Mike Fiers gets the start tonight as he enters with a 14-3 record, 3.51 ERA and 1.17 WHIP plus 115 strikeouts across 169 innings pitched.

Houston dominated to the tune of 21-1 Sunday afternoon at home in a series finale against Seattle to improve to 94-50 overall and 55-17 at home. Gerrit Cole pitched a gem even though it was unnecessary as he gave up only allowed one earned run on one hit with 15 strikeouts and no walks over eight innings. Yordan Alvarez helped pace the Astros offense as he finished 4-for-6 with three doubles, a run scored and six RBIs. George Springer finished 1-for-7 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs. Jake Marisnick ended the contest 3-for-6 with a homer and two RBIs. Kyle Tucker went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs. Aledmys Diaz was 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, a run and two RBIs. MLB Betting Trends
The Athletics are 7-1 in the last eight Fiers road starts. Oakland is 47-23 in its last 70 games overall.
The Astros are 37-15 in their last 52 games overall. Houston is 44-13 in its last 57 home games.
The Astros offense showed up in droves yesterday, but have a much tougher matchup against the efficient Fiers here. Greinke hasn't been quite as great with the Astros yet as he was with the Diamondbacks, but he's still a very good pitcher obviously. I like both starters to pitch deep into this game and rather go with a side, I'd rather play the under.
