Clevinger notches 10th straight win

Cleveland picked up a 5-2 victory Sunday afternoon at Minnesota to improve to 83-61 overall and 40-32 on the road. Mike Clevinger picked up the win as he gave up two earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over 6 1/3 innings. Brad Hand notched the save as he struck out one and walked one over one scoreless inning. Carlos Santana helped lead the Indians offense as he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks. Francisco Lindor was 2-for-5 with a solo homer plus a double. Jason Kipnis ended the contest 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Shane Bieber will start tonight as he enters with a 13-7 record, 3.24 ERA and 1.01 WHIP plus 233 strikeouts over 188 2/3 innings of work.

Angels stumble at White Sox

Los Angeles fell by a 5-1 score Sunday afternoon at Chicago in a series finale to drop to 67-77 overall and 32-43 on the road. Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with an RBI to lead the modest offensive effort. Michael Hermosillo was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, while Luis Rengifo ended the game 1-for-3 plus a walk. Jose Barria took the loss as the bulk starter as he allowed two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 4 1/3 innings as the bulk starter. Patrick Sandoval starts tonight for LA as he comes in with an 0-2 record, 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP plus 30 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings pitched.

MLB Betting Trends

Cleveland

The Indians are 5-1 in their last six Monday games. Cleveland is 1-4 in the last five Bieber starts.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 0-4 in the last four Sandoval starts. Los Angeles is 0-4 in its last four Monday games.

Prediction:

Shane "Not Justin" Bieber has been fantastic all season for the Indians and I don't imagine that stops tonight against an Angels team going through the motions and might be without Mike Trout tonight. Sandoval is pitching like a rookie and I'd rather side with the team that has something to play for.
