Goldschmidt powers D-backs to win

Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was 2-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and two runs scored Friday night in a 5-3 home win over the Braves. Daniel Descalso was 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Nick Ahmed finished 2-for-4 with a double. Alex Avila was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Patrick Corbin earned the win as he allowed one earned run on four hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over six innings.

Camargo continues hot hitting

Ronald Acuna Jr. finished 2-for-5 with a double and a run last night in the loss at the D-backs. Johan Camargo was 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Nick Markakis went 2-for-3 plus a walk. Ozzie Albies ended the game 1-for-4 with an RBI. Kevin Gausman suffered the loss ahe allowed four earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts and four walks on 4 2/3 innings.

Julio Teheran (9-7, 4.05 ERA) will take the mound today for the Braves, while Clay Buchholz (7-2, 2.05) gets the call for Arizona.

This series should be competitive throughout and with two capable pitchers on the mound, expect runs to come by today. If you pay attention to the trends, Atlanta has been playing a lot of low-scoring games on Saturdays for whatever reason. Scores have also generally been lower at Chase Field this season after the addition of the humidor. I am picking the under here.
