Chicago earned a 10-5 victory at Milwaukee Thursday night to open a four-game series and improve to 76-63 overall along with 29-39 on the road. Willson Contreras helped lead the Cubs offense as he finished 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Kyle Schwarber was 2-for-3 with a homer, a double, a walk and four RBIs. David Bote was 2-for-3 off the bench with a solo home run and two runs. Ben Zobrist ended the contest 3-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored. Jose Quintana picked up the win as he gave up four earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Zole Hamels gets the start today as he comes in with a 7-5 record, 3.69 ERA and 1.33 WHIP plus 122 strikeouts over 126 2/3 innings.

Brewers hit three HRs in defeat

Milwaukee fell by a score of 10-5 at home Thursday night against Chicago to drop to 71-68 overall and 40-31 at home. Yasmani Grandal paced the Brewers offense as he was 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Hernan Perez finished 1-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Cory Spangenberg ended the game 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Matt Albers took the loss in relief as he allowed three earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and one walk over one-third of an inning. MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The Cubs are 6-0 in their last six road games. Chicago is 5-1 in the last six Hamels Friday starts.

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 2-5 in their last seven home games. Milwaukee is 1-5 in the last six Davies starts.

Prediction:

Chicago is in the driver's seat for a playoff spot, while the Brewers need every win they can get to climb back in. While the Cubs might have the slight starting pitching advantage here, the Brewers are at home and their bullpen is in good shape. I'm going to bet on Milwaukee to win here as small home dogs.
