Braves blow finale versus Red Sox

Atlanta allowed two earned runs in the ninth inning yesterday at home against Boston as it fell 9-8 and lose all three games in the series. A.J. Minter suffered the loss a allowed two earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk in 1 1/3 innings. Ronald Acuna Jr. was 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs from the leadoff spot. He set a Braves team record with his eighth leadoff home run of the season, doing it in only 45 games hitting in that spot of the lineup. Ender Inciarte went 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs. Nick Markakis went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Freddie Freeman came off the bench and hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat. Johan Camargo was 1-for-3 with a walk. Ozzie Albies finished 1-for-5 with a triple, a run and two RBIs. Tyler Flowers ended the game 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Charlie Culberson went 0-for-2, but reached base twice on walks.

D-backs end four-game losing streak

Robbie Ray helped lead Arizona to a 6-0 victory Tuesday at home over the Padres as he threw 6 1/3 innings of two-hit ball with 10 strikeouts and two walks. A.J. Pollock went 2-for-4 in the win, while Paul Goldschmidt was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Eduardo Escobar finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Nick Ahmed went 1-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI. Ketel Marte was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Jeff Mathis was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run. Daniel Descalso was 1-for-1 as a pinch hitter, scoring a run and driving in one.

Anibal Sanchez (6-5, 2.98 ERA) will start today for Atlanta, while Arizona counters with Zack Greinke (13-9, 2.97).

MLB Betting Trends

The under is 7-0-1 in the last eight Braves road games. Atlanta is 2-6 in its last eight games overall.

The under is 20-6-1 in the last 27 Diamondbacks games overall. Arizona is 21-9 in its last 30 Thursday games.

Sanchez has been outstanding this season for Atlanta as a stabilizing force in the rotation, while Greinke continues to offer consistency. With both teams struggling a bit recently, I think each offense is going to find it difficult to score runs against the respective opposing pitcher. The best play here is the under.
