San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin

Wil Myers slugged a pinch-hit, two-run homer to lead the Padres to a 4-1 victory over the Giants on Saturday. Myers came off the bench to take Giants' lefty closer Will Smith deep to center field in the top of the ninth inning. It was his 15th long ball of the season and the first time he's left the yard since August 10. The plate skills leave much to be desired, but there's still plenty of thunder in his bat. He's also swiped 12 bases this season. It's difficult to trust him outside of extremely deep mixed leagues heading into the final month of the season.

San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin

Austin Slater slugged a solo homer in the Giants' loss to the Padres on Saturday. Slater connected on a 90-mph heater from Padres' starter Joey Lucchesi, blasting a towering solo shot to left-center field in the opening frame. It was his only hit in four at-bats and represented the lone tally for the Giants' offense on the night. The 26-year-old outfielder owns a pristine .281/.396/.529 triple-slash line with 17 runs scored, five home runs, 21 RBI and one stolen base in 144 major-league plate appearances this season. He's worthy of a roster spot in deeper mixed leagues heading into the final month.
