Brewers vs. Reds Prediction
The Milwaukee Brewers have been fading in the NL Central race over the past several weeks. Can they win on the road today at the Cincinnati Reds in an effort to gain ground in the standings?

Miley starting to slow down?
Lefty Wade Miley has been a solid contributor to the Brewers rotation over the last two months and still sports a 2.32 ERA. But his WHIP has gone up lately and now stands at 1.31 after giving up two earned runs on 10 hits over five innings in his last start at home versus the Pirates. He struck out four and walked one. In his previous start at St. Louis, he allowed four runs over five innings but only one was earned. He faced the Reds in his first start of the season on the road back on May 2, giving up one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and three walks over six innings to pick up the victory.
Reed making second start of season
The Reds will also be going with a lefty today as Cody Reed will be making a spot start. He started in his first appearance of the season on April 9 at Philadelphia, taking a no-decision as he gave up five runs (three earned) on four hits with four strikeouts and a walk over three innings. He made three more appearances out of the bullpen in April, then did not join Cincinnati again until earlier this month. On the season, he has made 11 appearances and sports a 3.68 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 14 2/3 innings. He has struck out 14 and walked four.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The over is 6-2 in Miley's last eight starts overall. The Brewers are 4-0 in Miley's last four starts with five days of rest.
Cincinnati
The Reds are 0-12 in Reed's last 12 starts. Cincinnati is 7-2 in its last nine home games versus a left-handed starter.
Prediction:
There is no doubt Reed has probably improved and being more comfortable at the MLB level over the last couple of years, but the fact is he has yet to prove himself as a starting pitcher. Miley has also taken a step back lately and Cincinnati has some hitters like Eugenio Suarez who can crush lefties. I like this game to see its score get high early as the hitters take advantage of two average pitchers and a ballpark that is a launching pad.
