Clay Buchholz blanked the Angels for seven innings and struck out seven Wednesday to move to 7-2 this season. It was an Angels lineup without Mike Trout, Justin Upton and Shohei Ohtani, leaving Andrelton Simmons as the team's best hitter. Buchholz has feasted on an easy schedule of late, though to be fair, he has looked genuinely good for the most part. Still, the Diamondbacks schedule is about to get a lot tougher down the stretch, and anyone relying on Buchholz in fantasy leagues will need to move on quickly if things start to head south.

Giants’ Bumgarner pitches eight innings in win over Mets

Madison Bumgarner fanned eight while holding the Mets to one run in eight innings in a victory Thursday. You won't find many better matchups of .500 pitchers than this one. Bumgarner outlasted Jacob deGrom in the 3-1 game to improve to 5-5 on the season. It was just his second win in seven starts since the All-Star break.
