Dodgers falter in sixth

Los Angeles blew a two-run lead as it gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday night in a 4-3 loss at San Diego. Justin Turner paced the Dodgers offensively as he finished 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBIs. Enrique Hernandez ended the game 1-for-2 with a solo homer plus two walks. Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with a double. Dustin May took the loss as he gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking one. Walker Buehler gets the start today for LA as he enters with a 10-3 record, 3.16 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 174 strikeouts over 148 1/3 innings.

Padres rally past Dodgers

San Diego used a three-run sixth inning to record a 4-3 home win Monday night over Los Angeles. Greg Garcia helped lead the Padres offense as he ended the game 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. Josh Naylor was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Eric Lauer picked up the win as he gave up three earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and four walks over six innings. Kirby Yates struck out the side in the ninth inning to notch his 38th save of the season. Cal Quantrill takes the hill tonight as he comes in with a 6-4 record, 3.32 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 70 strikeouts over 81 1/3 innings pitched.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games. Los Angeles is 1-4 in its last five road games.

San Diego

The Padres are 4-1 in their last five games versus the NL West. San Diego is 17-36 in the last 53 meetings.

Prediction:

The Dodgers aren't quite the same team away from home, but with Buehler on the hill I like their chances to bounce back here. He should give LA six or seven good innings, while also getting some run support as Quantrill has overachieved since coming to the majors and is probably due for some regression. After using its top relievers yesterday, San Diego might have a fatigued bullpen as well. Los Angeles appears to be the smart play tonight.

MLB DAILY PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES DODGERS -183
