Yankees power past Dodgers

New York hit three home runs off Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw Sunday night as it recorded a 5-1 road victory. D.J. LeMahieu helped lead the way as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Aaron Judge was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Mike Ford ended the contest 2-for-3 off the bench with a home run, a double and two RBIs. Domingo German picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over six innings. J.A. Happ will start tonight for the Yankees as he comes in with a 10-8 record, 5.58 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 105 strikeouts over 129 innings pitched.

Gonzales guides M's past Jays

Seattle notched a 3-1 home victory over Toronto Sunday afternoon to improve to 56-75 overall and 29-37 at home. Marco Gonzales picked up the win as he gave up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts and two walks over seven innings. Matt Magill recorded the save as he allowed one hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning of work. Dylan Moore helped lead the Mariners offense as he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Kyle Seager was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. J.P. Crawford and Austin Nola were both 1-for-3 with a run scored. Seattle has not yet announced its starting pitcher for today's game.

MLB Betting Trends

New York

The Yankees are 44-20 in their last 64 games overall. New York is 0-4 in its last four games versus the AL West.

Seattle

The Mariners are 6-2 in their last eight games overall. Seattle is 6-21 in the last 27 home meetings versus New York.

Prediction:

Happ has had a rocky season and gives up a lot of home runs. Being at T-Mobile Park rather than Yankee Stadium helps, but I still don't trust him fully. I also feel this could be a letdown after the series against the Dodgers. While the Mariners have not yet announced their opener, they should be in decent hands and overall Seattle has played good baseball lately. I'm taking a shot on the hosts here.
