Pirates held to three hits

Pittsburgh lost 2-1 at home to the Braves Wednesday to lose all three games in the series. The Pirates only scored two total runs in the three contests. Colin Moran was 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead the way in the defeat. Gregory Polanco was 1-for-4 with a double, while Francisco Cervelli also finished 1-for-4. Adam Frazier was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run. Kyle Crick took the loss in relief as he gave up one eanred run on one hit with two walks while not recording an out.

Brewers win in shutout fashion

Milwaukee picked up the win Wednesday at home over Cincinnati by a count of 4-0. Freddy Peralta earned the win as he threw seven shutout innings, giving up four hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Jeremy Jeffress picked up the save as he threw 1 1/3 spotless innings with a strikeout. Christian Yelich was a perfect 4-for-4 from the leadoff spot to lead the way as he had a home run, a double, a walk and two RBIs. Lorenzo Cain was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Travis Shaw went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Ryan Braun ended the game 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run. Manny Pina finished 2-for-3 with a walk and a run.

Joe Musgrove (5-7, 3.31 ERA) will start today for Pittsburgh, while Milwaukee counters with Wade Miley (2-2, 2.18).

MLB Betting Trends

Pittsburgh

The under is 10-1 in the last 11 Pirates games overall. The under is 29-11-3 in the last 43 meetings overall.

Milwaukee

The over is 7-1 in the last eight Brewers games following a win. The over is 6-2 in the last eight Milwaukee home games.

Prediction:

Musgrove is turning in a fine season and would quite possibly have better numbers if he had been healthy all season. Miley is having a career resurgence with the Brewers and with how he has changed his approach, I'm thinking he continues going strong. Pittsburgh's offense is struggling big time and I think the under is the best play here.
