Angels blow lead at Rangers

Los Angeles allowed four runs over the last three innings Wednesday night in an 8-7 loss at Texas. David Fletcher helped pace the Angels offense as he finished 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Albert Pujols went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Brian Goodwin ended the contest 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, a run and an RBI. Trevor Cahill suffered the loss in relief as he surrendered one earned run on two hits without recording an out. Jose Suarez starts tonight for LA as he enters with a 2-4 record, 6.75 ERA and 1.69 WHIP with 53 strikeouts over 53 1/3 innings pitched.

Astros bounce back from historic loss

One night after arguably the most shocking defeat in MLB history from a betting line perspective, Houston rebounded at home to double up Detroit to the tune of 6-3. Gerrit Cole picked up the win on the mound as he allowed two hits with 12 strikeouts and one walk over seven shutout innings. Roberto Osuna walked one while giving up no hits and striking out none in one-third of an inning to record the save. Alex Bregman helped lead the offense as he went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Michael Brantley finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. George Springer was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Zack Greinke starts tonight for the Astros as he comes in with a 13-4 record, 2.84 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 149 strikeouts over 165 innings pitched.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are 1-7 in their last eight series openers. Los Angeles is 0-4 in the last four Suarez starts.

Houston

The Astros are 4-1 in their last five games overall. Houston is 44-21 in the last 65 meetings.

Prediction:

The Astros are incredibly difficult to beat at home and with Greinke on the mound, they should be in great shape tonight. Houston can crush lefties and Suarez is a young raw pitcher with a good strikeout rate, but he leaves too many pitches out over the plate. The Astros will take advantage of the mistakes and I'm taking them on the runline tonight.
