Royal lose fourth straight

The Royals suffered a 6-3 loss to the Rays on Wednesday. KC has lost the first three games in this series and four straight overall. Kansas City is now 38-89 overall and 20-45 on the road. KC is putting up 3.65 runs per game on offense while allowing 5.41 per contest.

Danny Duffy gets the start for the Royals this evening. He has started 25 games this year and has a 7-11 record with a 4.90 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. Duffy has pitched 143.1 innings this year and has 128 strikeouts with 64 walks.

Rays win third straight

The Rays have won four straight following Wednesday’s latest win. They have held their opponents to just four total runs over the wins treak. Tampa is now 66-61 overall and 37-24 at home. The Rays are putting up 4.12 runs per game on offense while allowing 3.98 per contest.

Tyler Glasgow gets the start for Tampa today. He came to the Rays from Pittsburgh and has pitched in four games for Tampa this year. Overall, He is 1-3 through 38 pitching appearances this year and has a 4.10 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP. Glasgow has 96 strikeouts and 40 walks over 74.2 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are just 11-47 in their last 58 against a winning team and they have lost six straight on astroturf.

Tampa

The Rays have won seven straight after scoring five runs or more in their previous games. They have also won four straight Thursday games.

Prediction:

The Tampa pitching staff has been the story of this series and I think it will be the story again today. Glasgow hasn’t been great for the Rays, but Tampa can turn to the pen if they need to. Kansas City hasn’t been able to hit much all year and I don’t see today being much different. Duffy has given up six runs or more in three of his last four starts, so I don’t see him being able to match the Tampa pitching.

The Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -185
