Indians win streak ends

The Indians had their three game win streak come to an end on Wednesday in a 10-4 loss to the Red Sox. Cleveland is now 73-53 overall and 34-29 on the road. The Tribe are putting up 5.11 runs per game on offense while allowing 3.98 per contest.

Adam Plutko gets the start for the Indians this afternoon. He is starting for the eighth time this season and comes in with a 4-3 record, a 4.62 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Plutko has 35 strikeouts and 12 walks over 48.2 innings on the mound.

Red Sox end losing skid

The Red Sox managed to end their three-game losing streak on Wednesday with the 10-4 win over Cleveland. Boston is now 89-39 overall and 45-18 at home. The Red Sox are putting up 5.39 runs per game this year while giving up 3.72 per contest.

David Price takes the mound for the Red Sox today. He is making his 25th start of the season and he has a 13-6 record with a 3.69 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. Price has pitched a total of 141.1 innings and has 142 strikeouts with 41 walks.

MLB Betting Trends

Cleveland

The Indians have won 17 of their last 22 road games but they are just 2-5 in their last seven against a left-handed starter.

Boston

The Red Sox have won nine straight Game 4’s in a series and they are 19-7 in Price’s last 26 starts.

Prediction:

Price has been rolling and I think he will keep rolling today. The Sox have won his last seven starts and he has allowed just five earned runs over his last five starts, a total of 32.1 innings. Plutko doesn’t have nearly the same numbers or experience as Price. Boston should be able to get runs on him while I see Cleveland struggling with this veteran left.

The Pick: Boston Red Sox -185
