Blue Jays pitchers struggle in defeat
Toronto was hit hard and hit often Tuesday night in a 16-3 loss at Los Angeles to drop to 52-76 overall and 27-37 on the road. Sean Reid-Foley took the loss in relief as he surrendered five earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks over 1 2/3 innings. Bo Bichette led the Blue Jays offensively as he finished 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-2 with two walks. Derek Fisher ended the game 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Wilmer Font will serve as the opener tonight as he enters with a 3-3 record, 4.41 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with 66 strikeouts over 63 1/3 innings pitched.
Dodgers hit five HRs in blowout
Los Angeles cruised to a 16-3 home win Tuesday night over Toronto to move to 83-44 overall and 49-16 at home. A.J. Pollock helped lead the Dodgers offense as he went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two walks and two runs scored. Max Muncy was 1-for-1 with a solo homer, three walks and three runs. Will Smith finished 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs. Cody Bellinger ended the night 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and three RBIs. Chris Taylor was 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk, three runs scored and four RBIs. Corey Seager went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Joc Pederson finished 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Clayton Kershaw passed Sandy Koufax on the all-time Los Angeles wins list as he gave up three earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and three walks over six innings. Walker Buehler draws the start tonight for the Dodgers as he comes in with a 10-3 record, 3.31 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 166 strikeouts over 141 1/3 innings of work.
MLB Betting Trends
The Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 road games versus a right-handed starter. Toronto is 3-13 in its last 16 interleague games.
The Dodgers are 5-0 in the last five Buehler interleague starts. Los Angeles is 7-1 in the last eight meetings.
This probably won't be a complete annihilation like last night, but Buehler is having a fantastic season and is going to give the Jays a much different look than Kershaw. With Toronto likely to use several underwhelming pitchers, the LA offense should feast again. Go with the runline bet again for a team as good at home as the Dodgers are.
