Pirates salvage split with Cubs
After dropping the first two games of its four-game home series with Chicago, Pittsburgh rebounded with 3-1 and 2-1 wins to wrap up the series. Adam Frazier won Sunday's game with a pinch-hit walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning. Corey Dickerson helped pace the Pirates offense as he went 2-for-5 with a run. Gregory Polanco was 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.
Kevin Gausman (7-9, 4.22 ERA) will draw the start today for the Braves, while the Pirates are going with Chris Archer (4-5, 4.49).
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 6-0 in their last six Monday games. Atlanta is 3-7 in its last 10 road games versus a team with a winning record.
Pittsburgh
The Pirates are 14-6 in their last 20 games following a win. Pittsburgh is 6-2 in its last eight home games versus a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
Atlanta struggled at home against Colorado, but now faces a Pirates offense that has not generated much offense lately. As long as Gausman throws a solid start. The Braves should be able to get to the inconsistent Archer enough to end their four-game losing skid.
