Marlins score twice in 10th to win
Miami sent Washington to a 7-5 defeat Saturday as the Nats fell back to 62-62 on the season, seven games out of first place in the NL East. Brian Anderson helped lead the Marlins as he was 2-for-5 with a run. Derek Dietrich was 1-for-4 with a solo home run. J.T. Riddle went 3-fo4-4 with a home run, a double, a walk and four RBIs. Isaac Galloway finished 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs. Drew Steckenrider picked up the win as he gave up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts in an inning of relief. Brett Graves threw a spotless 10th inning for his first save of the season.
Turner homers, drives in three
Trea Turner finished 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in Saturday's extra inning loss. Adam Eaton was 2-for-2 with a solo home run that tied it in the ninth inning plus two runs scored. Koda Glover suffered the loss as he allowed two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk in an inning of work.
Jose Urena (3-12, 4.74 ERA) will make his first start today after coming off his suspension, while the Nats counter with Gio Gonzalez (7-9, 4.12).
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 7-19 in their last 26 games. Miami is 4-10 in its last 14 Sunday games.
Washington
The Nationals are 9-4 in their last 13 home games. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.
Prediction:
Urena will likely be booed loudly today after his ejection for hitting Braves slugger Ronald Acuna Jr. with his first pitch last game. That could impact his focus and he is already having a poor season. Gonzalez is highly inconsistent, but should get run support and is always capable of tossing a gem. I'm taking Washington here to win and if you want to bet on the runline I wouldn't talk you out of it.
