Rockies prevail in extras

Colorado scored three runs in the ninth inning and D.J. LeMahieu hit a solo homer as part of a two-run 10th as the visitors secured a 5-3 win Saturday night. It was the only hit in five at-bats for LeMahieu. Nolan Arenado finished 2-for-5 with an RBI, while Trevor Story was 2-for-5 with a double and a run. David Dahl went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run. Ian Desmond finished 1-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Adam Ottavino walked one and struck out one in an inning of relief to earn the win. Wade Davis picked up his 34th save with a perfect 10th inning.

Acuna Jr. has three-hit night

Ronald Acuna Jr. finished 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs in Saturday's defeat. Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Nick Markakis was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Luke Jackson suffered the loss in relief as he gave up two earned runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings, walking one and striking out none.

German Marquez (10-9, 4.51 ERA) draws the start today for the Rockies, while the Braves turn toAnibal Sanchez (6-3, 3.07).

MLB Betting Trends

The Rockies are 7-1 in their last eight games. The under is 6-2 in the last eight Colorado games overall.

The Braves are 7-22 in the last 29 meetings. The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Atlanta.

Marquez has been pitching solid baseball lately and Sanchez is in the wily veteran portion of his career as a big surprise for the Braves this season. I think both pitchers keep the offense down today and this one stays under the projected total.
