Orioles shutout
Baltimore suffered a sixth straight loss on Saturday as the Orioles lost 4-0 to the Red Sox in Boston. Baltimore is now 39-84 on the season, 21-41 on the road and 63-52 with the over. The Orioles have Ty Blach on the mound today. He is 0-1 on the year with a 13.50 ERA.
The Orioles were held to just five hits for the second consecutive game on Saturday. Trey Mancini had the lone extra-base hit with his 28th double of the year. He also finished with two hits to lead the team. Asher Wojciechowski took the loss to fall to 2-6 on the year, allowing two runs over 4.1 innings with three walks and four strikeouts.
Red Sox heating up
Boston moved its win streak to four straight games thanks to the shutout win over the Orioles on Saturday. The Red Sox are now 66-59 on the season, 32-32 on the road and 73-49 with the over. Boston has Nathan Eovaldi on the mound today. He is 1-0 on the year with a 5.77 ERA.
Eduardo Rodriguez got his 14th win of the season on Saturday, striking out four over 7.1 innings while giving up just four hits. At the plate, the Red Sox had Rafael Devers and Brock Holt each homered while Mookie Bets had two hits and scored a run.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are 42-116 in their last 158 road games and 14-40 in their last 54 division games.
Boston
The Red Sox have lost five straight Sunday games, but they are 5-1 in Eovaldi’s last six starts.
Prediction:
Blach has been a mess this year. He has given up 17 runs over 10.1 innings in his time with the Giants and Orioles. I don’t expect him to do very well against this Boston lineup in Fenway. Eovaldi hasn’t done anything special and will probably throw just a few innings. He hasn’t given up a run in his last three appearances, but I am guessing he and the Boston pen will get plenty of run support today. The odds for the run line aren’t out as of this writing, but I would suggesting going with the Sox -1.5.
MLB Prediction: Boston Red Sox -295
