White Sox bounce back
After dropping the series opener to Los Angeles on Thursday, Chicago bounced back on Friday with a 7-2 win for its third victory in four games. The White Sox are 55-66 on the season, 25-35 on the road and 62-55 with the under. Chicago has Hector Santiago on the mound today. He is 0-1 on the season with a 7.71 ERA.
The White Sox had another late surge on Friday, posting four runs in the eighth to pull away from Los Angeles. James McCann had a grand slam in the eighth to lead the way. Tim Anderson and Yolmer Sanchez each had two hits and a RBI in the win. Lucas Giolito got his 13th win of the season. He threw six innings and allowed just two runs with 11 strikeouts.
Angels trying to heat up
Los Angeles suffered a 7-2 loss on Friday and the Angels have lost three of their last five and six of their last 10. Los Angeles is 60-64 overall, 31-31 at home and 61-56 with the over. The Angels have Jose Suarez on the mound today. He is 2-4 on the season with a 6.57 ERA.
Pablo Sandoval gave up three runs over 4.1 innings to take his first loss of the year. Mike Trout hit his 41st home run of the season, a solo shot for his 94th RBI of the year. Albert Pujols and David Fletcher each had two hits in the win for the Angels as well.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox have won seven of their last eight games against a left-handed starter and five of their last seven road games.
Los Angeles
The Angels are 4-10 in their last 14 home games and 2-8 in their last 10 games following a loss.
Prediction:
Suarez has struggled a lot as of late, giving up 16 runs over his last 12.1 innings. Santiago had a poor start in his first outing with the White Sox, allowing five runs over 4.2 innings. He has been even worse on the road, posting a 10.50 ERA away from home this season. While I don’t like Suarez’ numbers, I feel like the Angels are going to have the more consistent hitting in this series, especially at home. Chicago has surged late in both games, but I don’t think it will help the Sox tonight.
MLB Prediction: Los Angeles Angels -165
