St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his major-league debut against the Royals on Wednesday. Arozarena recorded his first major-league hit with an RBI infield single in the seventh inning. He also singled in the ninth inning to record his first multi-hit effort. It certainly won't be his last of the year. The 24-year-old infielder posted a surreal .349/.435/.547 triple-slash line with 10 home runs and 16 stolen bases in 80 games between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis prior to his promotion earlier this week. He’s worthy of a speculative pickup in deeper mixed leagues.
Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Aristides Aquino hit his ninth homer Wednesday in the loss to the Nationals. Aquino went 0-for-3 against Stephen Strasburg today, but he welcomed Javy Guerra with a homer in the seventh to narrow the Nationals' lead to 17-4 and he later singled and scored again off Guerra in the ninth. He's the first player in history with nine homers through 14 big-league games.
MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals have won fight straight games but are just 2-5 in Wacha’s last seven outings.
Cincinnati
The Reds are a perfect 4-0 in Sonny Gray’s last four starts and are 5-0 in his last five outings overall.
Prediction:
The over is 3-0-1 in Wacha’s last four road starts versus the Reds and is 5-1-1 in his lats seven outings versus Cincinnati overall. On the other side, the over is 4-0 in Gray’s last four starts and is 5-2 in the Reds’ last seven games versus a right-handed starter. Gray has been sharp this season for the Reds but Wacha has been a dumpster fire that Cincinnati can bounce on tonight at hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark.
The Pick: Cardinals/Reds OVER 9.5
