San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Mike Yastrzemski's 13th homer was a three-run shot off Oakland's Joakim Soria on Wednesday. Yaz has homered in three of his last four starts. He still seems awfully unlikely to be a quality regular for the Giants going forward, but he's certainly smashed expectations to this point. He topped out at 15 homers (in 2017) in his five full minor league seasons, and he hit just 10 in 428 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A last year.
Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Ketel Marte went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI against the Rockies on Wednesday. Marte committed an error in center field today, which is notable because it was his first of the year. He's started 68 games in center, 40 at second base and five at shortstop, but he hadn't made an obvious miscue until today. His defense is part of why he's been the NL's third best player to this point.
MLB Betting Trends
San Francisco
The Giants are 13-6 in their last 19 road games and are 11-3 in their last 14 games against the rest of the National League West.
Arizona
The Diamondbacks have won four of their last five home games.
Prediction:
The Giants have been a terrible bet when Dereck Rodriguez draws a start. They’re 1-4 in his last five starts, are 2-10 in his last 12 outings versus an opponent with a winning record and are winless at 0-7 in his last seven starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, are 7-3 in their last 10 games coming off a loss and are 5-1 in their last six games when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous contest.
The Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks -135
