Cincinnati Reds DFS Notes
Joey Votto cranked a three-run homer on Friday night, powering the Reds to a 6-1 victory over the Phillies. Votto spoiled what had been a good pitcher's duel with a three-run blast off of Zack Wheeler immediately after Nick Castellanos had been beaned in the fourth inning. It was his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but proved to be the difference in the ballgame. The 37-year-old slugger has now crushed 15 home runs in his last 22 games and is slashing a robust .285/.375/.585 with 26 homers and 75 RBI on the year.
Philadelphia Phillies DFS Notes
Didi Gregorius went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and drove in the Phillies lone run in Friday's loss to the Reds. Gregorius finally got the Phillies on the board with a two-out, run-scoring double off of Heath Hembree in the ninth inning to score Jean Segura. As a team, the Phillies had just five hits on the night, with Gregorius the only player to have more than one -- and the only player to have an extra-base hit. Even with the strong night though, he's still hitting only .226/.276/.417 with 10 homers, 35 RBI and three swipes on the season.
Reds vs. Phillies MLB Betting Prediction
The Reds are 5-1 in their last six games versus the Phillies, are 5-1 in their last six games coming off a win and have cashed in 23 of their last 31 opportunities when favored. The Reds are also 7-0 in their last seven games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game, are 12-5 in their last 17 games overall and have won seven of their last 10 on the road when facing an opponent like Philadelphia that has a winning record.
