Dodgers vs. Mets MLB Prediction
The over has been profitable in previous games between the Dodgers and Mets but with Walker Buehler on the hill tonight to oppose Taijuan Walker, is the under the better play? First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. ET at Citi Field.
Game Snapshot
959 Los Angeles Dodgers (-185) at 960 New York Mets (+165); o/u 8.5
7:10 p.m. ET, Saturday, August 14, 2021
Citi Field, New York, NY
Los Angeles Dodgers DFS Notes
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said late Friday that Justin Turner (groin) will be available to pinch-hit on Saturday against the Mets. Turner has been sidelined since last weekend due to a minor groin injury, but appears to be getting close to a return to the Dodgers' starting lineup. The 36-year-old veteran third baseman owns a robust .289/.376/.491 triple-slash line with 62 runs scored, 20 homers, 66 RBI and one stolen base across 439 plate appearances this season.
New York Mets DFS Notes
Mets placed INF Javier Baez on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 12, with back spasms. Well, so much for the idea that he was nearing a return because he hadn't been placed on the injured list yet. In the long run, it's probably best to sit him down and let him rest for a while rather than trying to rush back too soon. Travis Blankenhorn was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move and will add infield depth while Baez is sidelined.
Padres vs. Nationals MLB Betting Prediction
The over has cashed ins even of the last 10 meetings between these two teams and is 37-18-3 in the Dodgers’ last 58 road games when facing a right-handed starter. On the other side, the over is 3-1-1 in the Mets’ last five home games versus a right-hander and is 4-1-1 in their last six home games when the total is sitting between 7 and 8.5 runs.
