According to oddsmakers, the Dodgers are favored on the road today, as they are getting odds of -295 to win. The Marlins are listed with a money line of +235 to prevail, while the over/under total is set at 8 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 89 percent going on the Dodgers as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Dodgers hit the road

Los Angeles is coming off a length homestand where it won seven of its last eight games, including two straight over Arizona coming into tonight. The Dodgers are 79-41 overall, 31-25 on the road and 59-56 with the under. Clayton Kershaw is getting the start for the Dodgers this evening. He is 11-2 on the season with a 2.77 ERA.

The Dodgers have the top pitching staff in the league with a 3.31 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. At the plate, Los Angeles ranks fifth in scoring at 5.40 runs per contest while batting .259 as a squad. Cody Belinger is leading the team with 24 doubles, 38 home runs and 89 RBI. Max Muncy is adding 16 doubles, 28 home runs and 76 RBI.

Marlins continuing to struggle

Miami has dropped eight of its last 10 games, but did manage a four-game split at home against the Braves at home this weekend. The Marlins are 44-73 overall, 24-37 at home and 55-54 with the under. Miami has Jordan Yamamoto on the mound today. He is 4-3 on the year with a 4.17 ERA.

The Marlins are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to scoring, averaging just 3.66 runs per game. They also have just a .241 batting average. On the mound, Miami has a 4.47 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. Brian Anderson is leading the team this season with 28 doubles, 20 home runs and 60 RBI. Starlin Castro has 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 54 RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 10-4 in their last 14 Tuesday games and 89-29 in Kershaw’s last 118 starts.

The Marlins are just 9-23 in their last 32 Tuesday games and 14-30 in their last 44 games following an off day.

Kershaw continues to be a dominant pitcher that has really turned things up over the last month. He had a 1.44 ERA in July and has a 2.08 ERA thus far in August. Yamamoto has given up at least four runs in four straight starts, including one against the Dodgers. He has given up 19 runs over his last 20 innings. I think Los Angeles should be able to touch him up while Kershaw dominates a really poor Miami lineup.

MLB Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-150)
