Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Corey Dickerson belted a solo home run for the Phillies' lone run in Saturday's loss to the Giants. Dickerson's blast off of Jeff Samardzija in the first inning was a no-doubter to dead-center field. Unfortunately for the Phils, they had just two singles, one walk and no runs otherwise. Dickerson had a chance to come up big again with two on and two out in the ninth with Philly down by two, but he went down swinging. The home run was Dickerson's third in seven games with his new team.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Evan Longoria ripped a two-run home run Saturday in the Giants' win over the Phillies. Vince Velasquez hung a breaking ball to Longoria in the second inning and the third baseman took advantage in launching a no-doubter into the left field bleachers. It was one of two dingers the Giants hit, as Kevin Pillar also went deep. The bomb was Longoria's first in six games since returning from the injured list
MLB Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 5-1 in Jake Arrieta’s last six starts when he’s coming off four days of rest and are 4-1 in his last five outings following a team loss in their previous game.
San Francisco
The Giants are 0-6 in their last six games following a win and despite winning two of three at home versus the Phillies this weekend, are 2-5 in their last seven contests at Oracle Park.
Prediction:
The Phillies are now 1-5 in their last six meetings with the Giants in San Francisco, are 1-4 in their last five games overall (all on the road) and have dropped 14 of their last 20 road games when facing a left-handed starter. On the other side, the Giants have won 12 of their last 17 when playing the fourth game of a series, are 5-1 in their last six games on Sunday and are 9-4 in their last 13 home games when facing an opponent that owns a losing road record.
The Pick: San Francisco Giants -105
