Rangers fall on walk-off homer

Texas lost 6-5 Friday night at Milwaukee on a walk-off homer to drop to 58-57 overall and 23-35 on the road. Hunter Pence helped lead the Rangers offense as he finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored. Elvis Andrus was 1-for-4 with a solo homer plus a walk. Logan Forsythe went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Emmanuel Clase took the loss in relief as he surrendered one earned run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk over 1 2/3 innings. Pedro Payano gets the start tonight as he enters with a 1-0 record, 3.43 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 13 strikeouts over 15 2/3 innings pitched.

Thames wins it with long ball

Eric Thames hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth Friday night to send Milwaukee to a 6-5 victory over Texas. Thames finished the game 1-for-1 with the game-winning homer, a walk and two runs scored off the bench. Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Keston Hiura ended the contest 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Josh Hader picked up the win in relief as he allowed one earned run on one hit with four strikeouts and one walk over 1 2/3 innings. Adrian Houser draws the start for the Brewers tonight as he comes in with a 4-5 record, 4.24 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 63 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Texas

The Rangers are 1-5 in their last six road games. Texas is 1-5 in its lst six Saturday games.

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 4-1 in their last five home games. Milwaukee is 0-4 in the last four Houser starts.

Prediction:

With the Rangers in a slump and sending a rookie to the mound today, I don't like their chances. While Houser hasn't been spectacular as a starter, he should receive ample run support. I like the hosts here and would consider taking the runline.
