Dodgers sock five homers in thin air

Brian Dozier went 1-for-5 with a 2-run homer from the leadoff spot last night in an 8-5 win at the Rockies, his third home run since coming to LA in a trade. Manny Machado and Justin Turner both finished the contest 2-for-5. Cody Bellinger ended the game 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Joc Pederson was 1-for-2 off the bench with a solo homer and a walk. Chris Taylor finished 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Max Muncy added a pinch-hit solo home run. Caleb Ferguson picked up the win in relief as he gave up two hits with one walk over 1 2/3 innings.

Iannetta shines in defeat

Colorado catcher Chris Iannetta went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in last night's loss. Carlos Gonzalez finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Nolan Arenado ended the contest 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. David Dahl and Ian Desmond both went 1-for-3 with a walk and scored a run. Wade Davis struggled again in relief to take the loss as he allowed three earned runs on three hits over one-third of an inning.

Kenta Maeda (7-7, 3.73 ERA) will be on the mound for the Dodgers today, while the Rockies counter with Jon Gray (9-7, 4.73).

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 8-3 in thelr last 11 Friday games. The under is 9-5 in the last 14 Los Angeles games overall.

Colorado

The Rockies are 7-1 in their last eight Friday games. Colorado is 2-8 in its last 10 games overall.

Prediction:

Gray has been fantastic since a brief trip to the minors, but he runs into an excellent Dodgers offense that pounded the ball around the yard last night. Maeda should get adequate run support and is a good enough pitcher that he can slow down a Rockies team that has been struggling all around lately. I'm taking the Dodgers to win again tonight.
