Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Aaron Nola delivered another dominant performance in Saturday's victory over the White Sox, striking out 10 over seven innings of one-run baseball. The right-hander allowed just three hits and a pair of walks on the night. The only blemish on his evening was an RBI double off the bat of Jon Jay in the fourth inning. Nola hasn't lost a decision since June 21, lowering his ERA from 4.55 to 3.60 in eight starts over that span. He'll attempt to keep the good times rolling when he does battle against the Giants in San Francisco on Thursday.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Steven Duggar has been diagnosed with a strained left shoulder. The injury occurred when Duggar attempted a diving catch early in Wednesday's contest against the Angels. The outfielder was replaced by Austin Slater in right field after. Duggar is going to undergo more testing, but it'd be a surprise if he didn't end up on the injured list.
MLB Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Phillies have won nine of Nola’s last 10 starts against opponents from the National League West.
San Francisco
The Giants have won six straight when Bumgarner starts at home.
Prediction:
The Giants have a putrid offense at home and it’s highly unlikely that they figure out Nola on Thursday night. The under is 4-0 in the Giants’ last four home games, is 15-5-2 in their last 22 games overall and is 6-1 in their last seven games against the NL East. The under has also cashed in six of the previous seven meetings between these two teams, including four straight in San Francisco.
The Pick: Phillies/Giants UNDER 7.5
