Margot nearly hits for cycle

Manuel Margot kickstarted the Padres offense Tuesday in a 11-5 victory at the Brewers as he went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple, two runs and five RBIs from the leadoff spot. Eric Hosmer was 1-for-5 with a walk and a run. Hunter Renfroe ended the night 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs. Christian Villanueva finished 2-for-4 with a walk and a run. Austin Hedges was 1-for-4 with a walk. Franmil Reyes was a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, three runs and three RBIs. Cory Spangenberg finished 2-for-4 with a walk and a run. Matt Strahm earned the win in relief as he struck out the only batter he faced.

Moustakas socks home run in defeat

Mike Moustakas hit a first-inning 2-run home run in yesterday's loss and ended the game 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Lorenzo Cain was 2-for-5 with a run. Jesus Aguilar finished the night 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Ryan Braun ended the game 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run. Hernan Perez and Manny Pina both went 1-for-3 with a walk. Josh Hader took the loss in relief as he allowed two earned runs on three hits with a walk in 1 1/3 innings.

Brett Kennedy (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will be making his MLB debut today for San Diego, while Jhoulys Chacin (10-4, 3.89) draws the start for Milwaukee.

MLB Betting Trends

San Diego

The under is 8-2 in the last 10 Padres games on Wednesdays. San Diego is 3-8 in the last 11 meetings.

Milwaukee

The over is 7-1 in Chacin's last eight games overall. Milwaukee is 7-1 in Chacin's last eight home starts.

Prediction:

Milwaukee stunk yesterday and now get to face an unknown commodity in Kennedy who had a reasonable amount of success at Triple A this season with a 1.12 WHIP. Chacin was awful in his last start and has regressed as the season has worn on. I'm willing to take another shot on the underdogs today as San Diego is playing with a lot of confidence the last couple games.
