Javier Baez finished 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in the Mets' loss to the Marlins on Thursday. And he left eight runners on base in collecting that platinum sombrero. Baez is the first Mets player to go 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in a single game since Dave Kingman on May 28, 1982. Granted, the trade-deadline acquisition did slug a go-ahead homer in the Mets' win over Miami on Wednesday.

Philadelphia Phillies DFS Notes

Rhys Hoskins hit a go-ahead two-run double in the ninth inning to give the Phillies a 7-6 win over the Nationals on Thursday. The Phillies entered the top of the ninth trailing 5-3, but some ineffective pitching from new closer Kyle Finnegan -- and some bad defense behind him, none of the runs against Finnegan ended up earned -- allowed Philadelphia to comeback for a much-needed win. The first baseman's double scored two and essentially gave the Phillies the win. Hoskins has hit just .244 thus far, but an .841 OPS, 24 homers and 68 RBI over 104 games have given him some relevance in 2021.
