Dansby Swanson went 4-for-4 with a stolen base and three runs scored on Wednesday, leading the Braves to a 7-4 victory over the Cardinals. Swanson reached on a one-out infield single in the fourth inning, stole second base and came home with the Braves first run on an RBI double by Guillermo Heredia. He then singled and rode home on Adam Duvall's two-run shot in the sixth inning. He singled once again and came around to score on Joc Pederson's RBI double during the Braves three-run uprising in the eighth. With the four-hit attack, the 27-year-old shortstop is now hitting .252/.306//471 with 20 homers, 58 RBI and eight stolen bases on the year.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS Notes
Nolan Arenado crushed a three-run homer in the first inning on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Cardinals offense to victory over the Braves. Arenado demolished a Drew Smyly offering, blasting it 400 feet to left field to give the Cardinals an early 3-0 edge. He also doubled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4 with the Cardinals only two extra-base hits. For the season, he's now slashing .264/.320/.503 with 21 homers and 65 RBI in his first year away from Coors Field.
